Keyuri's Philosophy

Parenting is the most powerful and influential job on the planet.

Every child is an innocent and precious soul who deserves nothing but the best from their parents and or caretakers.

When I say "the best", I'm not talking about the things that money can buy. I'm referring to the way children are raised. Love, setting limits, dialogue, and dedication are just a start, and research proves that a strong academic education alone does not define success. Passing a test at school does not mean one will pass the tests of life. There is so much that parents must accomplish before their child "flies away from the nest" at age 18. The sooner parents start, the better.

The challenge:
Many parents have succumbed to the status quo for themselves, their children, and their family life, and many find themselves simply going through the motions getting from one day to the next. A growing number of parents and children blame schools, teachers, coaches, teams, or other parents and children for their unhappiness or lack of success. Simultaneously, there are parents who in the spirit of love do everything for their child leaving little opportunity for the child to learn life's little lessons for him or her self. Our grandparent's values, and motto of personal responsibility are slipping away. We are witnessing a generation of children who despite "having it all" are not growing up to be as happy or fulfilled as they deserve to be.

The solution:
Parents and children alike can empower themselves with two specific tools. First is the power of emotional and social intelligence. Second is the power of choice. I named my company "On The Ball Parent Coaching" ...because whether you like it or not, in the game of life, the ball is always in your court, and choosing to deal with it effectively is how progress and success are attained. How "on the ball" are your parenting abilities? What are you willing to work on to secure even more family efficiency and harmony, and to empower yourself and your children?

Emotional and social intelligence are learned behaviors and an overwhelming amount of research (see resources) has proven that children with these skills grow up happier and more successful. They even do better in school. Exercising the power of choice can help your child to be an ethical leader instead of a follower.

Like a farmer who cultivates crops despite unfavorable elements, parents too can cultivate an efficient and harmonious environment in which children and the entire family unit are empowered to live authentically happy with sustained success.

As a coach I hope to broaden parent's awareness about the research based value of emotional intelligence and help them build a toolbox so that they can in turn "coach" their own children. Providing our kids with the skills to ethically triumph in the game of life is the way that we can really give them "the best" of everything that they deserve.
